Mr. Sanjay Mehta holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and boasts extensive experience of over 38 years in the Metal Scrap Recycling trade in India & International trade. With a global presence, including offices in the USA, UK, Singapore, and Dubai, Mr. Mehta has undertaken extensive travel worldwide.
Bio : Mr. Ikbal Nathani is globally recognized for his unwavering dedication, resilience, and fervent commitment to the equine community. As the esteemed Founding President, Mr. Nathani nurtured the Metal Recycling Association of India (MRAI) with the same care and devotion as a father would for his own offspring. He imparted to us the profound significance encapsulated in the maxim "Scrap is A Mine above Earth". Under his stewardship, MRAI triumphed in the formidable task of expanding its membership. His enduring affiliations with esteemed international recycling associations such as BIR and ISRI continue to yield substantial dividends for MRAI. He is a visionary, who has selflessly endeavoured to elevate MRAI to the status of a preeminent national association. For a span of six years, he administered MRAI from his personal office and provided daily guidance to the MRAI staff. He remains an indomitable source of inspiration for us all, and to this day, MRAI and its members seek his counsel on a myriad of matters. He now holds the esteemed title of President Emeritus, having gracefully passed the baton to Mr. Sanjay Mehta.
Bio : Mr. Dhawal Shah holds the position of Senior Vice President at MRAI and is a partner at Metco Ventures LLP, a prominent indenting house in India specializing in secondary metals, ferrous/non-ferrous scraps, and ferroalloys. With over 25 years of experience, he has significantly contributed to METCO's global expansion across 40 countries and diversified product portfolio. Additionally, Mr. Shah currently fulfills the roles of Treasurer at BIR and Senior Vice President at MRAI.
Bio : Mr. Zain Nathani is a well-known expert in the Recycling Industry both in India and abroad. He started his career as a Management Consultant with Bain and Company in New York and is currently Managing Director of Nathani Group—they are one of the oldest and largest Indian companies involved in the Ferrous Scrap business and are the largest scrap supplier in bulk vessels into Bangladesh since the last 6-7 years. Zain is also the Vice President of the Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI).
Bio : Mr. Naveen Prakash Sharma has been appointed as the Vice President of MRAI in the year 2024 and also holds the position of Executive Director at Gravita India Limited. He has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the metals and mining industry. Sharma holds a B.E. in Metallurgy and an MBA. Prior to his current roles, he has worked with esteemed companies such as Hindalco and Pennar Aluminium. Known for his guidance and counsel, he actively collaborates with industry associations and government bodies on crucial matters. His valuable insights have significantly contributed to Gravita's success and its dedication to achieving excellence.
Bio : Mr. Amar Singh is the Secretary-General of the Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI), formerly known as the Metal Recycling Association of India. He has been actively involved in the material recycling sector in India for the past 11 years and represents the entire Indian recycling industry. With qualifications as a Company Secretary and Law graduate, he is also an environmentalist by nature and possesses a strong understanding of the material recycling sector. Mr. Singh has consistently played an active role in preparing draft policies for the Indian recycling industry.
Bio : Mr. Jinesh Shah holds the position of Director at the Material Recycling Association of India and also serves as a Director at Rajhans Impex Pet Ltd. He is a graduate in B.Com and possesses approximately 40 years of experience in the non-ferrous metal business, along with 35 years of involvement in the Brass Extrusion industry. His professional engagements have taken him to various countries, including the USA, Canada, Poland, Germany, UK, and Thailand, where he has been involved in the export and import operations of the company. Currently, Mr. Shah is responsible for overall policy-making, import, finance, and other pertinent matters within the organization, thus serving as a key figure. He holds a permanent invitee membership at the Jamnagar Factory Owners Association and is also an invitee member of the Regional Advisory Committee for Excise & Customs.
Bio : Mr. Ehsan H. A. Gadawala is the Chairman of the Ala Group of Companies and serves as India's Ambassador at the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR). A recognized leader in the recycling industry, he was named Global Recycler of the Year in 2020 and won the Personality of the Year (Recycling) award in 2019. Ehsan is also the recipient of the Best Traders award and the Green Crusader award for his commitment to combating plastic pollution.
